Description
Echo and Chase had recently installed various sound speaker systems throughout Awake and Dreaming EEC. There was one per pasture and two in each of the barns, one in the indoor riding arena.
The goal was to create a peaceful atmosphere for the horses by playing music during the night and during the hours of the day when no one was around.
The control system was built and installed inside the Mare's barn, just outside the tack and feed room.
So imagine Echo's surprise one night when the music suddenly cut off, and a silence descended over the farm.
Muttering to herself about how one could never trust technology, she put on her boots and coat and walked into the cold autumn night to investigate.
When she entered the barn, the mares that were inside nickered curiously, and Echo wondered why they were all so wide awake.
she found the sound system control box open; the on/off switch thrust to 'off'. Confused, she flipped the switch and music resumed playing throughout the stable grounds.
Pausing a moment outside the mare barn to admire the full moon, Echo gasped when a shadowy shape glided across the ground, and in a matter of moments, DiscoStyx landed in front of her, grinning crazily and bobbing his head.
Echo assumed he was dancing to the music, and laughed and stroked his handsome head for a few minutes before heading back to the house.
The next night, the same thing happened. The music suddenly stopped, and this time when Chase went along with Echo to investigate, they found a feather lying on the ground in front of the open sound system box.
Muttering, Echo stomped outside.
"DiscoStyx! You get your ass over her this instant!" She yelled into the night, and sure enough, the colorful Mimsy Porpington flew into sight, followed by none other than Mischief, the young little foal born just that spring.
The pair of them landed before Echo, grinning sheepishly.
Echo crossed her arms, glaring at them.
"I should have figured you two would have done it. You just had to join in on the fun, eh Mischief?" She said, and the little filly nodded her head eagerly.
DiscoStyx continued dancing to his own little melody, not fully understanding why Echo was so pissed off.
For you see, DiscoStyx moved to his own music; a kind of music held in his heart and played in his mind.
The sound system distracted this, and so he had shut it off.
Echo sighed as DiscoStyx effectionately nudged her, licking her cheek before flying off again.
Chase came to stand beside Echo and just barely missed a playful kick in the nuts before Mischief rocketed after DiscoStyx.
Chase sighed, putting his arm around his wife's shoulders.
"I guess we'll have to return the sound system, won't we?" He said, but Echo shook her head.
"No," She answered. "We'll play it during the day. We'll give him the night," she chuckled, and the pair of them closed the barn again and went to bed.

I finally got around to doing some more traditional. I love how this turned out, I actually did a decent job with the black this time!
So anywho, this picture and story is about the Mimsy Porpington that I got from *orengel.
I finally decided on a name for him; AD PanicManic on the Dancefloor
NOTE: Since apparently people were choosing to take "Discostyx" as offensive instead of seeing it for the hilarious purpose it serves, I was forced to change the HARPG name to PanicManic on the Dancefloor. Any further request to change the name will be denied. Thank you and have a nice day.</b>
I also featured Release All Chaos (Mischief) because the two of them stick together like glue.
